Shankar Art Foundation is committed to promote art, encourage artists and fulfil the needs of a RASIK. For this, various art related activities, camps, competitions and exhibitions are organised from time to time. On similar lines, this compilation of art works has been very successfully carried out in the form of this book.
‘Creations & Expressions of Lockdown’ is unique in many ways. It is said that one can never plug the fountain of creativity, the more you press to stop the flow, more it gushes out forcefully in full form. Covid-imposed isolations and lockdowns have been
lightning bolt of inspiration and positive creativity for true artists. This otherwise awful period, gave an opportunity to distil the thoughts.
The works in form of paintings, collages, sculptures, installations have provided an outlet to the emotions of an artist. This effort on the part of artists has not only given courage to survive but also been therapeutic. Amazing healing touch has been provided by Shankar Art Foundation by producing this book. This kind of documentation will be of great benefit to younger generation to learn how to make best use of adverse situation.
To choose and showcase the works of more than hundred artists is a Herculean task in itself and what impresses more is the variety of themes and mediums. Colours mingled, brushes flowed and pencils danced in the hands of creators.
